Deb arrived Saturday afternoon, braving the holiday traffic which made her trip about 2 hours longer than usual. She only got to relax a little before it was time to get ready to hit the strip and see Spamalot. Very funny and fast paced musical which we enjoyed. The Wynn gave us each $25 in slot play for buying the tickets and since the tickets were a 2-4-1 locals special it made the play a reasonable price. Especially since Debra won $30 and I won $15. Yay.
The Wynn is a beautiful casino (but not as beautiful as the Bellagio) but it has the worst parking access of any casino on the strip. One way in and one way out. So annoying.
Last night we went to Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill in Caesar's which has two ways in and out. We took the little known back road and so ingress and egress was amazingly simple.
The Mesa Grill was yummy deliciousness as usual. My only complaint is that the seating is a little too tight for a high priced restaurant. We ignored our neighbors though as we munched on tuna nachos, shrimp in corn tamale, spicy crusted swordfish, cauliflower au gratin and sweet potatoes with chipotle chili. All southwestern spicey goodness. It was pricey but worth it.
After dinner, we played some more penny slots where Deb lost $4 and I lost the rest of the money we won at Wynn and some more. So dinner was more expensive than the already expensive price. I'm not complaining though since it was a fun evening with my perfect daughter.
Much the same way people are jealous of me because I can just run out to the Mall of America to shop any time I want... I'm jealous that you can just hit the Vegas Strip anytime YOU want! How Fun!
Merry Christmas!

Posted by: susan at December 24, 2007 08:36 AMSounds like a lot of fun. Karen and I loved Spamalot. Those who are fans of the movie (like me) and those who are not (like Karen) can both enjoy it. The food all sounds great too. Next time we visit, let's go to the Mesa. I'll buy.
Oh, and people are jealous of us because we can jump in the Ohio river any time we want. No, wait, it's not that; it's because we have Graeters and Skyline any time we want.
