And The Winner Is

It isn't a statistically accurate survey but CNN keeps a list of the most popular articles and updates it every 20 minutes. I assume they count the number of page views. When I looked at the page this morning, several of the most popular articles were somehow related to Katrina, one was about the Roberts hearings and the most popular article was about horrible people in Ohio. The number 3 article was about Matt Damon getting engaged.

I'm not sure what it says about us as a society that the 3rd most popular article is about some actor getting engaged. Maybe we just need a laugh. Maybe CNN is read mostly by young pubescent teens who love Matt. Or is he too old now? I haven't a clue. I just think it must say something. People are more interested in reading about Matt's engagement then they are about learning more about the man who most likely will impact law in this country for the next three decades. What a crazy world.

I didn't click on the Matt Damon article this morning but I almost did and I'll tell you why. Sometimes, you just don't need to hear about everything that is happening in the world. The news is too heavy somtimes and you are in the mood for something not as serious.

I could certainly buy that everyone is in the mood for less serious these days.
