To participate in experiments, go to Experimetrix, and click on "sign.up". You can read through the descriptions and sign-up for an appointment. For each experiment you will see (a) who is conducting it, (b) a description of it, (c) the location, (d) the number of credits, (e) open appointment days/times, (f) any restrictions, and (g) contact information. All posted experiments have been approved by the UNLV Institutional Review Board.

The number of credits that you earn depends on the duration of the experiment (i.e., 30 minutes = 0.5 credit, 1 hour = 1 credit, 90 minutes = 1.5 credits, etc.). The experimenter should assign your credit within 3 to 4 days - you can see your credit total when you login to Experimetrix. If credits are not assigned after 4 days, contact the experimenter.

Be sure to show up for any appointments you sign up for - it is your responsibility to show up at the correct location on the correct day/time. MISSING AN APPOINTMENT WILL RESULT IN A 0.5 CREDIT PENALTY. If you know that you cannot make an appointment, you must cancel the appointment with at least 12 hours notice to avoid a penalty. To cancel, login to Experimetrix, click "View Your Appointments", and then cancel.

Below are some important points about experiment participation:

-You must be 18 years of age to participate

-The posted experiments may change during the semester - check the list every once in a while

-Feel free to ask questions when participating and when the experiment is completed

-If you do not feel comfortable participating, you may quit at any point

-Unless otherwise stated, you can only participate in a specific experiment once

-If you show up for an experiment, but there is no experimenter present (please wait at least 15 minutes), contact the experimenter - you will receive full credit
