To complete article summaries, you must first register in Experimetrix. Once registered, you can complete article summaries of any of the 16 articles posted on the UNLV Library's E-Reserves. Please note, only summaries for these 16 articles are acceptable for credit. To get an article follow this path:

-Click the E-Reserve link

-Enter your bar code # from your student ID card and your last name

-Click "Electronic Reserves and Reserves Pages"

-Select "Department" tab then select "Psychology"

-Click on "PSY 101" and accept

At this point, you can then browse through the titles and open a file to read the article (note: you need Adobe Reader to view PDF files). After reading the article, download the Article Summary Form and answer all of the questions completely. Your goal when answering the questions is to demonstrate that you read and understood the study reported in the article. When you are finished, save a copy of the Word Document (the name is not important) for yourself and then email a copy of it as an attachment to the Subject Pool Coordinator. If you are unsure how to attach a file, please read the FAQ.

Each satisfactory article summary is worth 1 credit. An unsatisfactory summary is worth 0 credits. A satisfactory summary is one that completely answers ALL OF THE QUESTIONS. Credits should be assigned in Experimetrix within 1 week - you can see your credits when you login to Experimetrix. If you do not receive credit but turned in what you thought was a satisfactory summary, contact the Subject Pool Coordinator.

Below are some important points about article summaries:

-Only those articles listed under PSY 101 on E-Reserves can be used for article summaries

-Please do your own work and do not copy from the article - plagiarism and cheating are serious offenses and will be reported to your instructor and the faculty director of the Subject Pool

-All submissions of article summaries at the end of the semester deadline are final (i.e., an unsatisfactory summary cannot be resubmitted after the deadline)

-To receive credit for an article summary, you must be registered in Experimetrix
