local general interest, mining

Collections:
The Mining Collection contains textbooks and handbooks on mining and geology, directories, U.S. Geological Surveys, Nevada Bureau of Mines Publications, Environmental Impact Statements for regional mines, and soil surveys.

The Map Collection includes USGS Quadrangel maps, some historical maps, Nevada Highway Dept. Planning Survey maps, county maps, and Flood Prone Area maps. The Vertical File contains clippings, maps and brochures which focus on local on state topics, including places, buildings, people, statistics, and special events such as the Basque Festival and the Cowboy Poetry Gathering. Elko County Library also has the complete run of the Elko Daily Free Press on microfilm.

Focus :
The focus of are collection is primarily northern Nevada History.

Collections:
The Northeastern Nevada Museum houses one of the largest collections of trophy animals in the west, an extensive firearms collection, exquisite Native American and Basque artifacts. The works of Ansel Adams and Jim Weston can be found in the upper art gallery along with revolving art exhibits. The museums History Gallery takes one back to when northern Nevada was just getting settled: the people, industry and ways that made northern Nevada great.

Special Instructions:
The museum houses an excellent research library with about 1000 items to date. The library focuses on local history as well as subjects to support local interests and western Americana.
