Focus :
The Carson Valley Historical Society operates two museums (Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center and the Genoa Courthouse Museu) as well as the Van Sickle Archives. Collections focus on early Carson Valley History, transportation, agriculture, Genoa (Nevada's earliest settlement), and ethnic groups.

Collections:
In addition to oral histories, documents and photographs, collection includes surveys of local timber frame houses and other historic sites and properties. There are also genealogies and family histories of noted local families.
