CIT 198B Beginning C# (C-Sharp)

3 credits

An introduction to C# (C-sharp) programming language. Use of c# programming language for problem formulation and solution. This course will cover C# fundamentals, its object oriented concepts including classes, methods, inheritance etc. as well as control structures of the language. Course will use current .NET technology. Prerequisites: IS-115 and/or ability to program in a high level language.

CIT 198B Dynamic Web Applications

3 credits

Hands-on exploration of Web applications such as wikis, blogs, RSS, podcasting, Facebook, SecondLife, YouTube, Flickr and Google Docs. In-depth examination of these increasingly pervasive Web 2.0 applications and of their implications and potential for many career fields. Student projects showcased in electronic portfolios. Prerequisites: IS 101 or instructor approval.

CIT 198B Introduction to Crystal Reports

3 credits

Basic design and development of reports using Crystal Reports. Preparation of report specifications, creation of ODBC connections, and link database tables. Prerequisite: IS 101 or instructor’s permission.

CIT 198B Introduction to Windows Server 2008

3 credits

Provides direct hands-on approach with examples of how Windows Server 2008 works. Emphasis is on “What’s New in Server 2008”. Course is oriented towards both experienced and beginners to provide an opportunity to work within a Networking environment, configuring and troubleshooting networking components. The course is not intended to provide for certification in either Server 2008 Administrator or Enterprise Administrator; rather it provides for familiarization with the tools needed for configuration and administration of an Enterprise Server 2008 Active Directory structure. Serves as preparation for basic skills needed in CIT 212 and CIT 213.

CIT 198B Vista for Beginners

3 credits

Provides an understanding of Vista to demonstrate how it works and how to make it work better. Course is oriented for Vista "computer beginners" to provide a hand's on approach so that student will learn to manage and configure the Vista operating system. While the course concentrates on beginning demonstrations and various configurations of Vista, students should have some basic working beginning knowledge of Windows XP. This course can also serve as preparation for CIT 198 B Vista Certification Exam 77-600.

CSCO 198B Operating Juniper Network Routers in the Enterprise

3 credits

This course focuses on the insallation, configuration, and operational analysis of Juniper Networks routers in the enterprise environment. Users the J-Web GUI and the JUNOS CLI for configuration of J-series and M-series models. The configuration and operational monitoring case studies will cover general configuration and RIP, static, and OSPF routing. The class provides an overview of common services such as IPSec, VPNs and stateful firewall/NAT.

ET 198B Electronic Troubleshooting

3 credits

This course emphasizes how to troubleshoot electronic circuits. These include analog and digital circuits and systems commonly encountered in the electronics industry. Standard test equipment and materials are used for measurement, isolation, and identification of circuit problems. Once the students' troubleshooting skills are developed, the student is encouraged to work independently. A student should have 1 year of experience in electronics before taking this course.

ET 198B Introduction to Electronic Crime for Law Enforcement

3 credits

This course is an introduction to the investigation of high-tech crime. It will present the tools and methods used by criminals in identity theft, financial crimes, drug trafficking, crimes against children, hacking, terrorism, and other electronic crimes. It will also include high-tech intelligence gathering methods and legal considerations, including ECPA, pen/trap orders, CALEA, and Title III wire taps.

ET 198B Lab for Electronics

ET 198B Power Supply

3 credits

This course covers the functional theory of DC power supplies and switched mode power supplies. It also covers step-by-step troubleshooting procedures. Basic, Series Pass, Pulse Width, and Pulse Rate power supplies and other types are part of the course.

GIS 198B Geoprocessing & Python Scripting in GIS

3 credits

The course has been designed to give students an overview of the geoprocessing operations using python scripting language using ArcGIS Software. Students will become familiar with the model builder environment and will be involved in hands-on exercises using local data to perform Geoprocessing functions using python scripting language.
